Surely you can't imagine a combination as good as cake and a bevvie? You can't? Yeah thought so! Last week was National Baking Week and here at REX, we like to take cake quite seriously and we'd thought we'd share a slice of the fun with an evening filled with buttercream, fondant decorating and of course a beer to wash it all down with!
You're probably wondering what Buttercream & Bevs was all about, I'm sure us teasing you with sweet,sweet cake talk has got your mouth watering, so here's what went on...
It was all about learning the tricks of the trade and adding a bit of Halloween sass to your bog standard cupcake, it was all about having the piping bag in one hand and a glass of bubbly in the other!
We had a piping station in which our Cakexperts (yeah, we're making that a profession) would teach you the treats of the trade on how to ice your cake with sheer bliss! Next, it was all about the finishing touches with some fiddly but fantastic fondant modelling, it was time to roll up your sleeves and mould until your hearts content! Of course, no cake would be complete without a sprinkling of well, sprinkles - Of every shape, size and colour of course!
